As our cats grew, there curiosity did as well. They began to explore places and found new spots to call their own. When we first brought the cats home, they immediately dug their claws to the kennel, and refused to let out. We had to yank the cats apart so we could show them where the litter box was. The first place that we grounded them to was their litter box. Although they were young when we bought them, they were trained on where to use the bathroom. That was easy enough, but they crouched close to the floor and crept slowly around to explore.
After we let them wander around for a bit, we needed to take them to show them where they would be eating. We carried them to their dishes and I faintly remember what happened soon after that.
They adapted to the house better after days passed, and we noticed that they wouldn't come out from under the television stand. The only time they would was when they were hungry, needed to use the bathroom, or gathered up enough courage to come out for a few minutes and take a look around.
I was the first one that my Sassy cat became friends with. She ignored us all when we first brought her home, and ran at the sight of us. One night when I was watching television before bed she jumped up onto the mattress and laid down. I hesitated not to move an inch or make a sound for I was afraid she might wake up and leave. Then, I did not know her personality as well and did not know how she would react. I guess this was a sign that she liked me the best and she still has ever since.
Of course now they have grown out of their stage of hiding under the television table, and found new spots to sleep. Their favorite use to be under the bed where the carpet was and kept them nice and snug, but after the mattress stand broke, they have no choice but to sleep out in the open or under another piece of furniture.
They feel more secure and safer now that they have grown to know and love us, so they hardly open their eyes as we walk by. Especially Meow cat. He tucks his head under his paws so he covers his eyes and acts unconscious, because he knows that you would not harm him in any way.
