My Meow!

It was like a regular ordinary day yesterday, until about 7:30 that is. My meow was walking into the litter box, and I passed thinking oh great, and I went back to my business. I found out later that he had not gone to the bathroom, and he couldn't! I have never been so freaked! He had tried but failed and all there was, was a bit of blood maybe about the size of a thumb nail. There was something wrong, and I was afraid that it was something serious. Of course, we call the vet, and the lady sitting at the front desk (who by the way knows quite a bit about everything) answered and told us it could be a urinary track infection or, plugging, which means that his urinary track was clogged. So we were told to come right over to the doc's, and he might have to stay over night. I start bawling, but we go... I did not want my baby staying over night alone in some dark smelly old office. We left the house at about 7:50. We had a kennel finally (A friends) and we began on our mission. When we arrived, the front desk lady took meow and went into the back room. I was waiting, and there was also a golden retriever there that was wounded on his chest and on his front left leg elbow. Apparently, it got bit by a poisonous snake, and his skin was dying off. I was told that he had gotten surgery before, but it really didn't look like it. Boy, dogs are happy about anything; that bite didn't bring down his attitude. When we got meow back, we received word that it was not plugging :) If it was, meow might have had to get surgery. She told us that it is only a minor condition that is pretty common to see a cat get. There were minerals that were blocking the way and he couldn't go the the bathroom. She also said that if we had fed him a lot of fishy things in a short period of time, that could also help result in this problem... ~~~ If you are an owner that likes to give your cat(s) tuna, tuna water, or anything such as fish, try to do it rarely as just a treat. That may keep your cat healthier, although it is not bad once and a while. ~~~ Anyway, she told us that she gave him a shot of antibiotics, and I think maybe a pain reliever (if any pain) Then, she handed us a box of his medicine; shake well, give two times a day, once in the morning and once in the evening for one week. Use the bottle up.

On the car ride home, I think meow was drowsy from something whether it be the pain reliever or not, and it seemed as though he could not lift himself up to move. I looked in the kennel and he would seem to be moving his front arms up to get up, but his legs wouldn't listen and his arms would just collapse. He was laying in the Kennel meowing a little, maybe saying, "Help! My arms, I can't move them," but his eyes didn't look drowsy at all. He came to lay on my lap, but his claws would release and try to hold on to me for the ride. My cats are never ones to claw or bite. They are very careful about that, but he was afraid. In hopes of not getting clawed any further, I tried to move him in a better position. It probably would have been a good idea to trim his nails before the trip. I was holding him in my arms in the second position, and I looked like he couldn't pick up his head because it was almost like it was glued to my arm just resting over the side. He went to get up after about two minutes later and only moved one of his paws. He got into a position that was giving me a hug. I was so excited! ~~~ I love you too my meow! ~~~

In one part of the trip, he was looking out the window and watching as we drove, it was adorable. It was a good thing that we took care of this problem the first time we saw it, or it could have gotten worse. This trip just made us closer as Pals :)

The Doctors Visit

It was time for their check up, and the cats were not happy when they found out that they had to travel in the car. We didn't have a kennel to put them in, so we had to carry them by hand wrapped in a blanket. (The cats were in a blanket, not our hands) When they were all together in the car, my meow cat did the usual, and started meowing as loud as he could, and my other just sat crouched by the back window of the car. As I was comforting my meow cat with a nice tone and rubbing his back, he still meows, walking around, but still unsure and frightened. Still, my other one doesn't move and I try to comfort both. As we are driving, meow cat gets an idea to investigate, and attempts to climb under the wheel to the pedals. Meow was shooed away. My other cat was shaking, so frighted, and its eyes were large. We planned to make it to the doctors and borrow a kennel to bring them back home in. That way, they felt more secure, and feeling that they had a place to hide in. We came to the doctors, and brought them in for a check up. He had to give them two shots each. They are very well behaved in an area that is unknown to them, so they stayed on the table for most of the time, although when meow cat got a little more secure and felt e' could make his get away, e' (if i am remembering this correctly) jumped off the table, but the doctor caught meow and put him back. When meow was done, it was the others turn. I felt that the doctor was handling them both very rough and when he pet them it was more of a pat on the back. I was unhappy about him, but they got their shots, and we bolted out of there. I couldn't take another second, with the smell of dog and all of their little presents. Still, on our way home, we forgot to pay them and had to turn around go back in and pay them their money. As we were driving home yet again, my cat (not meow, but the other) was laying in the kennel facing towards me. Cats head was flat down on its paws. As its head is leaning slightly over the kennel opening onto the seat. Cat would not respond to me. As annoyed as cat was, cat didn't pick up its head, or even glance at me when I spoke to em'. As I will now refer to my cat as "Sass." When we got home, they realized that the thrill ride was over, and they were back safe at home again. They did victory laps.
