A New Friend

A cat has been coming around our door step every so often for food and water, which we provide for it because it seems so desperate. It doesn't have a collar and looks identical to our other two cats. It has been particularly cold outside lately because of the season change, and we were scared this may be it's last visit.

The cat is very small. It is black and has a small white marking on its chest. It is very hungry and we can't do anything but help it. We caged it and put it in our basement so that it didn't freeze. My sister, who was very concerned about the cat is at this moment asking anyone and everyone she knows if they could possibly provide or get a home for this cat. She called the human society and the police to see if they could find anything on what to do, and who to give it to. We have no idea if this cat has fleas, tics, worms, or is carrying any type of disease. This cat is in a kennel, and we fed it chicken and cat food. It scarfed its food up so quickly we are sure it doesn't belong to anyone. It licked the plate clean, and we made sure to wash the plate many times over and over again.

It doesn't look as old as two years, and it isn't very skinny, just very small like a kitten. We are trying our best right now to care for it as best we can being that it is late at night.

Meows reaction to this cat was a large gargle. We think Meow is upset because this cat is enclosed in a cage, and Meow knows that it isn't comfortable, but we can't risk a sickness being carried through the house by letting it be set free. When my sister mentioned how soft it looked Sassy looked twice at her as if she was thinking "Oh no you didn't girlfriend."

All we can hope right now is that we can find a comfortable home for this needy kitten.
